TE-FOOD Announces a New Masternode Structure

One of the first blockchain-based food traceability solution company, TE-FOOD, now has a new node structure. It will bring with itself Supernodes and Masternodes. While Supernodes will be available for large supply chain companies, the Masternodes will be for the consumer.

New Infrastructure

Transactions in the network will need to be confirmed by at least one Supernode in addition to all masternodes. The management of the node infrastructure will be taken over by the partner company TriBlock Ltd. It will provide its cloud infrastructure to the masternodes which means that the physical location of the nodes can be managed for optimal coverage, operators will not have any infrastructure costs and also a new onboarding program for newbie masternode operators that don’t have any expertise in the field. Using this infrastructure, the nodes will be able to use their own VPS as well.

The New Nodes and Their Rewards

As we mentioned earlier the new structure for TE-FOOD will bring two new node types that will be specialized for different groups of people. The Supernode will be operated by supply companies and organizations that get motivated to participate in the network. On the other hand, Masternodes will be owned by consumers, which will be incentivized to operate their masternodes.

With the new TriBlock infrastructure scaling up the number of masternodes will be easier and the reward structure will be reworked. In the future nodes will be rewarded on the basis of operations and not blockchain transactions, because each transaction can contain multiple operations. The rewards for validating the transactions will be bid based as the nodes will have a general setting where the CAL rate asked for an operation can be set. After each month (settlement period), the CAL amounts of masternodes will be paid for in ETH, which will have the same actual day exchange rate as the transaction.

Conclusion

In order to wrap things up, we would like to remind the community of some details. The TE-FOOD project is very ambitious and still very young. The “farm-to-table” traceability is in an immature market and in its early phases. As the growth of adoption, so will the rewards grow. All of these changes that are planned in the future will be up for change until their final release.
