Stratis Sidechain Masternodes and Smart Contracts Launched

Yesterday was the launch of Stratis’s new Cirrus sidechain masternodes along with the Stratis Smart chain Contracts in C#. This makes the project, the first blockchain network to offer businesses and developers the ability to run smart contracts on the core architecture of Microsoft.NET. C# developers are also able to develop auditable smart contracts and expect the best results as the C# code is executed on-chain.

Cirrus Sidechain And Masternodes

The release of the Cirrus Sidechain is a follow up from a two-week testing phase, in which the Masternode Operators were able to familiarize with the operation of a sidechain masternode as well as interacting with the Cirrus Sidechain itself. The new sidechain really expands the functionality for all businesses operating on the Stratis network. It is the first ever smart contracts platform built from the ground up in C# on the Microsoft.NET framework.

As a result of this there are also two new wallets that are now available for the users. It is worthy to mention that the Stratis Core got a major update allowing it to fully support transactions to the Cirrus Sidechain along with the support for the new release of the Stratis Full Node. Also, a Cirrus Core Wallet is released allowing users to manage their wallet and interact with the smart contracts with cross-chain interactions.

The new Masternodes will divide into two types – Federated Masternodes that produce blocks on the sidechain and earn transactional fee and GAS, and Multi-Sig Masternodes which are the same as the Federated ones but with the ability to produce blocks on the sidechain.

Stratis Smart Contracts

With the new Stratis Smart Contracts created in C#, business owners that are users on the network don’t have to create their own blockchain for every decentralized application. Instead they can create smart contracts in a programming language that they can understand (like C#) and release them on one underlying blockchain. C# is a programing language that is estimated to be used by over 6 million developers according to SlashData, 2019. These smart contracts will not only kick-start a rapid growth process for the network but also make Stratis the only crypto project in the world currently with this type smart contracts.

Conclusion

To sum everything up, the new Cirrus Sidechain Masternodes and the new Smart Contracts that are developed in C# and Microsoft.NET will allow Stratis to scale beyond what was possible before. It will be not only easier but also cheaper for businesses to build and release dApps due to these functionalities.
