ANON is a Hybrid Coin that has Masternodes

You’ve probably heard that on 10th September 2018 there was another fork of BTC. In a matter of fact, it wasn’t exactly a fork.

A new coin was created, called ANON, which snapshotted both Bitcoin and ZClassic’s chains. Hodlers of BTC received an Anon into a ratio of 1:1, while ZCL hodlers received Anon coins at a ratio of 2:1 (meaning 2 ANON per 1 ZCL). Just to clarify this is not a classic hard fork (chain-split). Instead, the team decided to snapshot and begin their own chain.

Bitcoin ZClassic fork

The Genesis block was mined on 12th of September 2018 and all the information about exchanges will be released on the 15th of September. While sniffing through their official Discord channel we’ve noticed that there is already an exchange where you can trade ANON. Link here .

So, what does Anon actually represent?

ANON is a coin which focuses on fast, secure and anonymous transactions. Sounds familiar? Just like the last project forked from ZCL. The difference here is that ANON uses a hybrid consensus (Proof-of-Work / Proof-of-Stake) and has masternodes which provide anonymous transactions and a voting system.

Of course, since it’s a hard fork (code fork) from ZCL, it uses zk-SNARKs as their chosen method for anonymous transactions. Just a brief explanation of zk-SNARKs (Zero-Knowledge Succinct Non-Interactive Argument of Knowledge): it allows users to prove that a transaction/input is correct without revealing sensitive information (like private keys) to a validator and without any interaction between the prover and verifier.

The block reward is going to be 12.5 ANON with a block time of 10 minutes on average. Pretty much the same as BTC though the block reward will be split differently. 65% of the block reward will go to the miners and 35% will go straight to the masternode operators as a reward for providing certain features to the network.

If you are interested in the project you can head to their official website or better yet to their discord channel and ask for information or help with setting up your masternode.

Heads up: There is no official QT wallet yet, so you’ll be forced to use the CLI verson of the client.
